lafkos – pelion
Lafkos is characterized as the “head village” of South Pelion and is a place where you will relax and spend your holidays combining daily sea excursions to nearby settlements and villages.
The traditional character of the village is preserved, with many stone-built houses and mansions, paved cobbled streets and paths full of olive groves and shady plane trees that offer a unique coolness to those who want to stroll around the village.

Cuisine
Lafkos is a settlement with traditional Pelion cuisine with taverns and traditional cafes around the square where you can taste local dishes, delicacies and pies.
The Cultural Association of Lafkos “Drasi”, holds a series of music and dance events throughout the year in order to entertain the locals and visitors of the village through the rich musical tradition.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
On Christmas Eve, a big celebration is held in the village square. The members of the Association together with all the children of the village decorate the “Tree of Wishes” to the sound of festive melodies.
Warm wine with honey and spices is served and pancakes with honey or local feta cheese are served.
CULTURAL MEETING
An event for the dissemination and preservation of Greek traditional dances and music was held for the first time in June 2016 with the participation of 12 dance clubs from all over Pelion and Volos.
The event takes place every year, on the three-day Holy Spirit weekend.
DANCE EVENTS
The Department of Traditional Dances of the Association presents dances of Pelion at the celebrations of the national holidays of March 25th and October 28th in the village square.
The association is present at other events as well, according to the programmed schedule.
